Biography
Christopher R. Reeves received his Juris Doctor in 2001 from Vermont Law School, where he also received his Masters in Law, cum laude, in Environmental Law. He served as the Editor of the Journal of Environmental Law and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Christopher received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina in 1998, where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society.
Christopher’s litigation practice includes environmental litigation, medical malpractice, premises liability and toxic/mass tort litigation. In the course of his career, Christopher has been lead counsel for more than 24 jury trials to verdict. He was named “Rising Star Super Lawyer” in Atlanta Magazine’s Super Lawyer 2010, 2009 and 2007 editions. He was selected as the 2010-2011 secretary for the Atlanta Bar Assocation Environmental and Toxic Torts Section and Vice-Chair of the Environmental Law SLG, DRI Toxic Torts & Environmental Law Committee.
Christopher has been employed in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice where he gained extensive experience with environmental matters including cost recovery actions, permitting violations and other regulatory matters relating to the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA and EPCRA. Christopher was also a policy analyst providing support to the EPA on Brownfields, RCRA and Clean Air Act proposed regulations.
Prior to entering practice, Christopher clerked for Chief Administrative Law Judge Ronnie A. Yoder at the U.S. Department of Transportation. While there, he was responsible for handling violations under DOT Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations and worked on cases including the 1996 crash of ValuJet flight 592 that resulted in the death of musician Walter Hyatt.
