Biography

M. Kathryn Rogers is a native of Starkville, Mississippi.  She attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa on a full tuition Presidential Scholarship.  While at the University of Alabama, she spent time studying abroad in Oxford, England, and served as a student representative on the Executive Committee for the National Collegiate Honors Council.  She earned a degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing before attending law school at the University of Georgia on a Smith Marion Fellowship.  While at the University of Georgia, Kathy was a member of the Moot Court Board, Mock Trial Executive Board, and competed on the mock trial teams for the ATLA and William Daniels Competitions, the latter of which she received a nomination for Best Advocate.  She also competed in the International Commercial Moot Arbitration competition in Vienna, Austria, was selected for a position with Ernst & Young’s legal division in Frankfurt, Germany, and studied abroad in Innsbruck, Austria, under United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

Prior to joining the firm, Kathy practiced law in the areas of workers’ compensation and civil litigation in a large Atlanta law firm. She also interned with the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor’s Office and clerked for the judges of the Superior Court of Paulding County. She is a member of the Order of Barristers, Atlanta Bar Association and State Bar of Georgia.  She has presented numerous client seminars on multiple topics including Georgia Workers’ Compensation Updates, The Importance & Criteria of State Board Forms & Panel of Physicians and Claims Handling: Investigating a Claim.  Kathy has acquired significant litigation and court experience by successfully defending corporations, government agencies and individuals in lawsuits, mediation, and pre-litigation matters.  She is a RIMS/CPCU Risk Management and Insurance Mentor (mentors risk management students to become future business leaders).  Her practice focuses on all aspects of workers’ compensation, general litigation and products liability.  She was named “Rising Star Super Lawyer” in Atlanta’s Magaizine Super Lawyer 2013, 2011 and 2010 editions.
